At Apex we’re not concerned about winning awards, but one award we do get excited about is 100 Best Companies to Work for in Texas. On March 31, at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, a few Apex employees attended the 2015 Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards ceremony where the rankings were announced. This is the eighth time we’ve been included on the list, and we are honored to be ranked the 8th Best Medium-Sized Company to Work for in Texas.
“Being on the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Texas list lets us know we’re doing something right, because it tells us our employees are happy and they enjoy coming to work every day,” said Shelley Goodrum, Human Resources Director for Apex. “At Apex, it’s about the people.”
The Apex Difference
We participate in this process every year because it allows us to get feedback directly from our employees on how satisfied they are with Apex. This information allows us to continue to be a fun, friendly and empowering place to work. We put our employees first, and we use this survey to make sure our strong company culture is never sacrificed.

How Companies Are Selected
The Best Companies to Work for in Texas list is made up of 100 companies, divided into three categories; small, medium and large. You can check out this month’s special issue of Texas Monthly to see all the winners.
To be considered, companies from across the state entered a two-part survey process where each company was judged on the following:<.p>
- Workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices, and demographics (25% of the total evaluation)
- Employee survey, which measured employee experience (75% of the total evaluation)
- The combined scores from both determined the top companies and final rankings.
